INVASIVE DIVERTED
STUDIO ART THESIS (2024)
For my senior thesis, I completed a year-long research and design project that culminated in a week-long installation in the Zilkha Gallery. I researched the problem of invasive plant species in Middletown and explored ways of manipulating discarded plant material through blending, soaking, and drying to create practical fabrication materials. In the final work, I used locally invasive mugwort, and demonstrated its ability to be used in classic paper-making and wet wood-bending techniques.
